We are looking for an Account Executive - Data Center Energy Solutions to join our team. This role will report to the Vice President Data Center Energy Solutions and is based in San Jose, CA. This role will work from our San Jose, CA office and require office presence.
Overview
As a Sales Leader at Bloom Energy, you will focus on driving the adoption of Bloom’s innovative fuel cell and energy solutions within the data center sector. You will build relationships with executives and senior decision-makers in data center operations, sustainability, and finance, guiding them to understand the value Bloom Energy provides in terms of reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective power. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, customizing solutions to meet client needs, and delivering a strategic approach to address data center energy demand challenges. Role and Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management: Develop relationships and networks with leadership (C-suite and N-1/2) in datacenter teams of hyperscalers; develop and execute strategies to target data center operators and technology companies needing resilient and sustainable energy solutions; leverage networks to drive lead generation and Bloom Energy’s presence; maintain a robust pipeline. Consultative Solution Selling & Value Communication: Lead consultative sales conversations to understand client energy requirements (uptime, resilience, emissions reduction, sustainability goals); tailor Bloom’s energy solutions to the needs of data center facilities; demonstrate value in reducing grid dependency, improving energy efficiency, and enabling zero-emission operations. Technical Solution Design & Proposal Management: Collaborate with engineering, finance, and technical teams to develop detailed proposals including ROI calculations, deployment timelines, and implementation frameworks; ensure proposals align with client goals and Bloom’s value proposition. Contract Negotiation & Deal Closure: Lead contract negotiations focused on long-term value; navigate budgets and procurement processes; coordinate with legal and finance to align terms with Bloom’s guidelines. Go-to-Market & Channel Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships across partner ecosystems; serve as the point of contact for channel partner questions; identify and onboard new partners for key accounts. Market Analysis & Thought Leadership: Stay informed on energy trends and regulatory changes; represent Bloom at industry events to share insights on energy resilience and sustainability for data centers; provide feedback to product and marketing teams. Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years in B2B sales, preferably in energy solutions with a focus on data centers or critical infrastructure; experience with hyperscalers is a plus. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of alternative energy solutions, especially fuel cell technology, microgrids, and renewable integration for large-scale facilities. Sales Skills: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets with consultative selling, negotiation, and value-based solution selling. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degrees are a plus. Other: Frequent travel will be required. Core Competencies
