Lifeguard Position
Schedule/Hours: Monday-Saturday schedule times vary (Part-time 27.5 hours per week) This position is responsible for: Serves as a lifeguard for all pool operations; provides constant surveillance of pool activities. Teaches water exercise and swimming lesson classes. Key Responsibilities: Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area. Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules. Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving C.P.R. and first aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of victim. Teaches swimming lesson classes; maintains attendance records for classes; mails certification cards for swimming lesson classes. Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water; vacuums bottom of pool surface; scrubs side walls; back washes filter system; checks filter gauges and regulates water level and temperature of pool. Tests the pool water Ph level, chlorine level and Bromine level as scheduled in order to ensure correct chemical balance of pool water; dispenses chemicals into the pool as needed; ensures the safety of all swimmers. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of pool area; collects and disposes of trash; maintain neat and orderly pool office. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to swim and perform lifesaving activities. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. What We Are Looking For In You: High School Diploma or GED (Required) AND Two years' experience working as a Lifeguard and teaching swimming lessons, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities Licenses and Certifications: Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
