Small Arms Repairer
You will serve as a Small Arms Repairer in the Operations Division of NSA Crane Sec Det. Responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on weapons, protective equipment, and law enforcement related equipment. You will issue and maintain weapons and personal protective equipment to security and law enforcement personnel. You will ensure all weapons and ammunition are accounted for and required inventories executed within specified periods. You will ensure all required standard operating procedures and applicable instructions for the armory remain current. Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of Small Arms Repairer without more than normal supervision such as: 1) Disassembling, cleaning, and performing maintenance on small arms such as revolvers, automatic pistols, shotguns and rifles; and 2) Assembling small arms in accordance with instructions and manuals; 3) Manually operating small arm assemblies to check for proper action/operation.
