Location: Lexington, KY Job Type: Nights 5x8-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Competitive hourly rate: $18.00 an hour Position Summary

The EVS Worker is a vital part of the hospital team, responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role supports infection prevention efforts by performing thorough cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, surgical areas, public spaces, and clinical environments in accordance with hospital protocols and health regulations. Key Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, and restock supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, operating rooms, emergency departments, and common areas. Follow hospital-approved cleaning protocols and infection control procedures, including terminal cleaning and isolation room procedures. Dispose of biohazardous waste, sharps containers, and soiled linens safely and according to regulations. Clean high-touch surfaces regularly to minimize the risk of infection transmission. Respond promptly to housekeeping service requests from nursing staff and other departments. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums, and carpet extractors. Restock hand sanitizers, soap dispensers, paper products, and other consumables. Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or facility issues to the EVS Supervisor. Participate in emergency cleaning situations (e.g., spills, code contamination clean-ups) as needed. Maintain professional and compassionate interaction with patients, visitors, and healthcare personnel. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least 6 months of housekeeping or janitorial experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of infection control standards and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English; bilingual skills a plus. Strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Physically able to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift/move up to 50 lbs. Work Environment

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and medical waste. Regular use of PPE and adherence to hospital safety standards. Fast-paced environment requiring attention to urgency and detail.
