Hold Truck Operator

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Hold Truck Operator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring our field crews have the necessary materials, equipment, and support to complete projects safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and an effective communicator who can work both independently and as part of a team. Whitaker Construction, founded in 1953, has over 70 years of experience in the heavy civil and underground utility construction industry. As an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, Whitaker has become one of the largest contractors in the Intermountain area with more than 600 employees and nearly 70 crews. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon. Roles and Responsibilities Including, but not limited to, the following: Manage and coordinate the distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment from the "hold" truck to various job sites. Accurately complete and track Enbridge meter forms using a company-provided tablet. Clean and restock the hold truck with appropriate materials, supplies, equipment, and tools to maintain an organized and efficient inventory. Assist field crews with general labor or fusing tasks when the hold truck is not needed for deliveries. Communicate effectively with Superintendents and Foremen to schedule deliveries and address needs in a timely manner. Work with employee-owners to replace gas risers as needed on job sites. Understand and apply knowledge of Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOCs), gas regulations, and meter types to ensure safety and compliance at all times. Skills and Qualifications A valid driver's license and current medical card. Ability to maintain driving privileges with the company. Relevant Operator Qualifications (OQs) from Enbridge/ITS, with a commitment to completing all required training. Current Enbridge plastics fusion OQs (must hold and maintain). Proficiency in reading and understanding tape measures. Strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of fusion experience. Experience with tablet-based documentation and tracking systems.
