Material Handler
Role Overview: A Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production material and supplies, and staging finished product. This includes consolidating and packing materials for shipments. The Material Handler position is critical for the fulfillment of the additional material time (AMT) orders for out of service elevators and company warranty of contracts. This position interacts with quality, specifiers, customer service and every line in the Florence plant to support elevator mechanics and superintends. The Material Handler performs duties such as receiving, inspecting, storing, pulling and shipping, products to the customer. In addition, they are responsible for cycle counting and performing inventory adjustments. The Material Handler will participate in daily toolbox meetings and ensure shop floor management elements such as Tier 1, QCPC, 5S, MRB and other job duties assigned are completed effectively. Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 6AM-4:30PM (M-F & Weekends as needed) Essential Responsibilities: Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock. Packing material, crating crates, and completing material audits. Process data into the AMT tool, MTS, JDE, Concept, DSI Systems & FedEx Systems. Perform basic root cause analyses. Operate PIV to pick up and deliver materials to shipping and receiving dock. Participate in required Level I OJT and cross-training on Level II material handling processes. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor or manager. Critical Skills: Basic reading, writing and math ability. Basic computer applications and use of product documents to ensure product compliance. Effective communication skills to drive improvement in defect prevention and flexibility to foster learning all Level 1 products/stations and cell configurations. Ability to train others in product configurations to drive cross-training and knowledge transfer. Computer Literacy - must be able perform or learn basic computer applications and the ability to use PDF documents and send emails. Good organizational skills and time management.
