The Senior Multi-Tenant Commercial Real Estate Underwriter will underwrite appropriate cashflows and capital structures for income-producing properties. The role will provide financial and analytical support services for investment sales and debt and equity agents, which will include preparing financing packages, data input, valuation, performing market research, and preparing financial analysis for presentation to investment sales clients, sponsors, and lenders. The role will have a strong focus on quantitative analysis and financial modeling matched with practical business application. The Senior Multi-Tenant Commercial Real Estate Underwriter has a thorough understanding of capital markets and commercial real estate fundamentals, the ability to accurately underwrite commercial real estate and capital structures without outside direction, knows the likely lender type for each transaction, is heavily involved in client interaction, and can effectively manage expectations. Responsibilities: Responsible for analyzing information to underwrite real estate transactions in accordance with lenders guidelines Breakdown and analyze profit and loss statements and rent rolls May occasionally present and support analyses to investment sales agents, sponsors, and lenders Conduct detailed analysis of each real estate transaction to determine the feasibility of financing options Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in commercial real estate financing Audit financing packages to make sure financial information is accurate prior to distribution Create and execute underwriting training several times throughout the fiscal year Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions, and make recommendations as necessary Develop and maintain sophisticated financial underwriting models for commercial real estate asset valuation Responsible for the development, management, and training of financial models Train Financial Analysts and Sale Associates Other duties as assigned Requirements: Minimum: Must have a Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration At least 3 years of analytical, quantitative, research, and technical skills underwriting investment properties High-level experience working with Excel, Argus, and other underwriting software Must have excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills Preferred: A strong work ethic to thrive in a dynamic and demanding work environment Ability to meet critical deadlines Deep understanding of accounting and financial concepts Possesses a thorough understanding of capital markets and commercial real estate fundamentals Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Has the ability to accurately underwrite capital structures without outside direction Detail oriented and the ability to effectively multi-task, undertaking a large number and variety of tasks while maintaining the highest work product standards Knows the likely lender type for each transaction Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
