Lifeguard Position
Responsibilities: Maintain surveillance of patrons in the pool and respond quickly to all emergencies. Perform preventive lifeguarding and enforce rules to keep patrons safe. Stay alert to recognize when a patron is struggling in the water. Ability to work as a part of a team to perform tasks (first aid, cleaning, etc.) and to effectively respond in an emergency. Effectively communicate with staff and patrons. Ability to listen to and implement feedback. Hourly Wage: $13 - $16 per hour. Starting pay adjustable depending on previous lifeguard experience. Weekday shifts from 5:30am-3pm start at $15 per hour. Requirements: 16 years of age or older. Ability to pass a pre-lifeguard training swim test. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Training: Preemployment Red Cross Lifeguard training & certification provided at no cost. Swim Instructor Position
Responsibilities: Teach swim technique, strokes, and water safety rules to students of varied ages and abilities. Assess students progress and provide feedback. Adapt lesson plans according to students needs and goals. Ability to work as a part of a team to perform tasks and to effectively respond in an emergency. Effectively communicate with staff and participants. Develop and improve your own skills and knowledge as a swim instructor. Ability to listen to and implement feedback. Hourly Wage: $16 per hour for public lessons. $20 per hour for private lessons. Schedule: Non-Summer: 6-12 plus hours per week in addition to lifeguard hours. Requirements: 16 years of age or older. Previous competitive, lifeguarding, or instructional swim experience. Ability to pass a pre-swim instructor training swim test. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Training: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor training & certification provided at no cost.
