Hourly: $18- $22 per hour Position Summary:
The Goodhue Center is seeking qualified and responsible lifeguards to work in our 7-week summer camp program. Lifeguards ensure pool safety by monitoring swimmers, enforcing rules, and providing swim lessons. They also assist with the buddy system and help implement the pool safety plan. Essential Duties: Maintain a vigilant watch over the pool area to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Monitor the behavior of swimmers and identify any potential hazards or unsafe practices. Clearly communicate and enforce pool rules to all swimmers and visitors. Conduct regular safety checks of the pool and surrounding areas. Ensure that all safety equipment, such as life rings and first aid kits, are readily available and in good condition. Facilitate the buddy system among campers to ensure they swim in pairs for added safety. Keep track of all campers and ensure they are accounted for during swim time. Plan and conduct daily swim lessons tailored to the skill levels of the campers. Offer guidance and support to help campers improve their swimming abilities. Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement a comprehensive pool safety plan. Participate in safety drills and training sessions to stay prepared for emergencies. Assisting the pool supervisor or camp director as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 16 years of age. Lifeguard certification Must maintain all appropriate lifeguard certifications Skills
