The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) administers Medicaid and related public health insurance programs for the City of New York. Applying individuals and families are approved for eligibility against applicable Federal and State guidelines. Those found eligible can access coverage to see doctors, obtain medication, and receive other health care services at little or no cost.
The MAP Business Solutions and Support (BSS) unit conducts operational and policy-oriented research, analysis, and reporting for MAP, including ongoing activities with the Home Care Services Program.
MAP is recruiting for one (1) Associate Staff Analyst to function as a Research Analyst within the BSS unit. Responsibilities include:
Coordinate and conduct research and analysis of MAP projects to assess conformance to goals and expectations. Provide input on the development and operation of units to increase effectiveness. Prepare statistical and analytical reports to assist managerial decision-making.
Develop indicators, design, implement, and maintain recurring reports to monitor MAP programs and assess the impact of State and City initiatives.
Perform quantitative analysis of data from original research, program records, internet searches, external databases, the HRAs Enterprise Data Warehouse, consumer surveys, focus groups, and literature reviews to evaluate policies, procedures, or budgets related to MAP services.
Review reports from MAP divisions and databases with agency leaders to ensure appropriate data collection and reporting.
Support agency goals and improvement projects to enhance program efficiency.
Maintain liaison with MAP programs and other agencies to facilitate cooperation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director or Director of Business Solution and Support.
Hours/Schedule: 9 am 5 pm (FLEX)
Salary Range: $79,473 - $91,394

Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in relevant fields or a Juris Doctor with one year of professional experience in areas like budget, management, research, personnel, or related fields. Or a bachelor's degree with three years of relevant experience. Or an associate degree with five years of relevant experience. Or a high school diploma with seven years of relevant experience. Or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with specific credits substituted for experience. Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred. Additional Information
