The Oregon School for the Deaf is hiring multiple Student Food Service Workers for the 2025-2026 School year. You must be enrolled currently at the Oregon School for the Deaf to qualify. This position will remain open until filled. We will begin screening applications on September 15, 2025. We encourage interested applicants not to delay application. Hourly Rate: $21.38 - $24.27 before PERS Position Information: This position performs a variety of routine food service activities such as washing dishes, pots, and pans, setting up condiments and food pans; preparing food trays; serving on food lines; clearing and cleaning tables, counters, and serving areas in a volume dining or food service facility. This is a part-time position and is scheduled for the duration of the academic school year. The schedule will require flexibility and the scheduled hours may vary from day to day. Responsibilities Include: Assisting in the dish room Assist with dish machine operations Sort and rack dishes, glasses, and utensils Wash dishes, pots, pans, etc. Clean dish machine and dish room Must be knowledgeable in dish machine operation Follow state safety and sanitation regulations for food service establishments Food prep as needed What Are We Looking For: Dependability Punctuality Skill in the proper use of materials and equipment used in a dining or food service facility A Current Oregon Food Handler's Card *Preference may be given to candidates that have a minimum of 6 months experience within a food service facility. Salary: Employees who are Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS; the salary range noted above reflects base salary only.
