Scientific Systems
Supports the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in managing and maintaining the Scientific Systems security program in compliance with all applicable regulations. Assists in ensuring the protection of classified and sensitive information, conducting security briefings, processing security clearances, and implementing security policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Support the FSO in managing and maintaining the companys security program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, DoD regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
Process and track personnel security clearances including initial clearances, periodic reinvestigations, and upgrades, using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
Monitor and maintain accurate records of classified holdings, clearances, and security-related documentation, ensuring compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Train and orient employees on security policies and procedures, including new hire and annual refresher training to ensure compliance with government, company, and customer regulations.
Conduct initial, refresher, and termination security briefings for cleared employees, communicating responsibilities and obligations of handling classified information.
Perform self-inspections and assist with preparing for audits, assessments, and government inspections to maintain security readiness.
Administer visitor control procedures, including verifying clearances, managing access logs, and escorting visitors as needed.
Assist with managing classified document control, transmission, and destruction in accordance with security protocols.
Investigate and report security violations and incidents, coordinating with the FSO to implement corrective actions.
Oversee Open Storage physical security duties and daily activities.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to resolve security issues and respond to inquiries.
Stay current with changes in security regulations and best practices to ensure the continuous improvement of the companys security program.
Develop and establish effective security awareness training and education programs.
This role requires individuals to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods, and the ability to work in this environment.
May require the ability to push/pull/lift up to 15 pounds.
Required Qualifications
Active US Top Secret security clearance and ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to SCI and SAP as required to support contract activities.
1-3 years experience working in an industrial security role or related field.
Prior experience with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, NBIS, and DISS.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in collateral closed areas and ICD 705 to meet contractual requirements for classified environments.
Experience with classified document control and self-inspection processes.
Strong attention to detail.
