Material Handler
Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a Material Handler to join our Manufacturing Team at our facility in High Point, North Carolina. In this role you will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations within the manufacturing plant. Benefits: Weekly Pay

Schedule:
1st Shift, 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary Location:
250 Swathmore Ave, High Point, NC 27263 Responsibilities: Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations
Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information
Review shipments for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents for accuracy
Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule
Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids)
When problems arise, resolve issues with contractors or vendors
Validate, approve, and forward invoices to accounting department
Collect and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment
Operate a forklift to safely and efficiently transport materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, or shelves, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents
Safety load, unload, stack, and transport materials within the facility and outdoor yard. Operate industrial forklifts (10,000 lbs. capacity or greater) to transport heavy and oversized steel frames.
Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting pre-operational checks on the forklift
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate activities, communicate any issues or concerns, and ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas
Perform other related duties as assigned
Education Requirements: Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating forklifts with a 10,000lb+ lifting capacity, specifically for long and heavy steel products
Job Requirements/Special Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish required
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to read blueprints preferred
Efficient time management skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
