Restaurant Host/Hostess
Summary: The Restaurant Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating an outstanding first impression. This role entails welcoming guests warmly, managing reservations, and ensuring that guests are seated in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities
Guest Relations
Warmly greet guests upon their arrival and acknowledge departing guests with a sincere thank you. Handle guest queries regarding wait times, dining hours, and general restaurant information. Manage guest complaints professionally, escalating them to the Restaurant Manager when necessary.
Seating Management
Guide guests to their tables, providing menus. Ensure that guests with specific needs (e.g., high chairs for infants, wheelchair access) are accommodated appropriately.
Maintain Restaurant Appearance
Ensure that the reception area, menus, and entryway remain clean, organized, and inviting. Regularly check the restrooms and other public areas, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked. Rolling and stocking silverware.
Administrative Tasks
Maintain an accurate waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Familiarity with reservation software is a plus. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Personal Attributes
