We're Hiring: Airside Project Construction Manager
The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is looking for an experienced and strategic Airside Project Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction, maintenance, and improvement projects within the Air Operations Area (AOA) — including runways, taxiways, and ramp areas.
This role is critical in maintaining safe, compliant operations under FAR Part 139, while minimizing impacts on airport stakeholders, passengers, and guests.

- Manage and coordinate airside construction projects (planned & unplanned)
- Ensure safe operations by reviewing and implementing phasing plans
- Identify project synergies to reduce delays and airfield congestion
- Develop construction schedules aligned with operational priorities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver infrastructure upgrades and regulatory improvements

How to qualify
Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND
Experience: Four (4) years of professional-level safety and/or security operations experience at an airport, airbase, airline, or military base, of which includes at least two (2) years of experience in airside construction AND
License and Certification: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license prior to employment.
Education Substitution: Additional qualifying full-time work experience (2000 hours equal one year) as described above may substitute up to two (2) years of the required education. One (1) year of work experience equals 30 semester units or 45 quarter units.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with airport engineers and contractors to create, review and/or revise airside construction plans, including construction safety phasing plans, to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and operational workability.
- Knowledge and experience reviewing and mitigating FAA 7460 determinations for cranes and other Part 77 obstructions.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor degree or higher level of education in Aviation Management or a closely related field.
