Senior Program Security Specialist
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified Senior Program Security Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure full-spectrum security support across Collateral, SCI, and SAP programs, managing personnel, physical, industrial, and information security requirements for our U.S. Space Force customer. You will oversee personnel security operations in DISS and JADE, conduct indoctrinations, manage in/out processing, and maintain access control for secure facilities. Acting as a security SME and advisor, you will support inspections, audits, and compliance activities, while also reviewing and drafting policies and SOP's for government approval. This position offers the opportunity to work with a mission-focused team and provide critical security expertise in support of national defense. Key Responsibilities: Implement and oversee security processes across Physical Security (PHYSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), and Industrial Security (INDUSEC), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Manage personnel security operations in DISS and JADE, including verifying accesses, creating Program Access Requests (PARs), and determining access eligibility as a Special Access Program Personnel Security Officer (SPO) Execute the Special Access Program Nomination Process (SAPNP) and coordinate with Program Management on PARs and SCI nominations. Support classified materials handling, including destruction and inbound/outbound data transfers Maintain inbound and outbound visit notices and related records Develop, update, and provide feedback on security policies and SOPs (e.g., OPSEC plans) for use of secure facilities Review and edit Program Security Classification Guides (SCGs) for accuracy, formatting, and marking compliance Conduct and document facility reviews and facility close-outs for supported programs Support program management through on-site visits and travel to industry and government organizations Required Skills & Experience: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI). 10+ years of relevant DoD experience, with 4+ years in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last five years Willingness to consent to and successfully complete a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph if required Familiarity with classified computer systems (e.g., Scattered Castles, JWICS, SGN) Knowledge of DoD security policies and standards, including DoDM 5200.01 (Vol 1-3), DoDM 5105.21 (Vol 1-3), DoDM 5205.07 (Vol 1-4), ICD 705-02, and related directives Understanding of DD-254 Contract Security Classification Specifications, ensuring accurate communication of security requirements between government and industry Strong collaboration and coordination skills to work with Program Managers, mission partners, and security stakeholders Ability to support government inspections, audits, and compliance reviews Education & Certifications: Required: Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MS), or Master of Engineering (ME) degree, with the flexibility to consider extensive work experience as a substitute for formal education Preferred: Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) Security Specialist Course Preferred: Security Professional Education Development (SP?D) Certification Program Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Paid Parental Leave Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
