Bar Traza Host Overlooking the Poinsettia Valley and the lush golf courses at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Bar Traza offers rustic, Mediterranean shared plates, curated cocktails and delicious light bites in a timeless Spanish-colonial setting. Bar Traza's menu reflects European flavors and the fresh lifestyle of coastal cuisines. Responsibilities
Report for scheduled shifts on time and in assigned uniform. Maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance. Proper telephone etiquette. Be polite, confident, and able to help the guest with any request or know where to direct them. Advise guests of table availability and assist in escorting them to an area of the lounge. Acknowledge guests immediately as they walk through the door. Ask for their name and room number when applicable. Always refer to them by name. Assign server stations and maintain proper server rotation. Utilize Open Table. Track reservations and ensure all notes are entered and as detailed as possible throughout the shift. Seat guests and drop menus. Introduce the server by name prior to departing the table. Advise the server of any special requests. Tell the server the guest name and table number. Keep the pace of the floor at a level that ensures excellent service by limiting covers. Ensure all areas of the lounge are clean, particularly the entrance and podium area. Know setting guidelines, table numbers and overall dining room procedures. Thank the guest for visiting and invite them to return. Use their name whenever possible. Work as a team with all Associates to maintain an effective, positive atmosphere to run an efficient food and beverage service. Qualifications
Experience in a front-line position directly dealing with people. Must be well groomed and have a friendly and outgoing personality. Must possess solid communication skills, including the ability to communicate with precision, diplomacy, professionalism, and courtesy. Must demonstrate exceptional multi-tasking ability and the ability to prioritize and expedite efficiently and courteously. Must possess basic computer knowledge and the ability to use touchscreen and keypad to organize and make tables assignments and reservations. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must complete CA Food Handler's Card training provided upon hire. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Pay Rate: $23.75/hr
