The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking applications for a Sales Associate position at the UVA Bookstore.
The UVA Bookstore is a self-supporting, non-profit organization owned and operated by the University, dedicated to supporting academic programs and student life. Our mission is to actively support students, faculty, staff, departments, and University initiatives as an integral part of the University community.
The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all UVA Bookstore customers, both internal and external. This role requires professionalism, a working knowledge of store products, acting as an ambassador for UVA Bookstore, and working independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Assist customers on the sales floor Restock sales floor Check inventory levels in store, stock room, and warehouse Communicate effectively with customers, staff, and other University employees Utilize a computer, including email and inventory software Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED 1-3 years retail experience Preferred Qualifications
More than 5 years retail experience Anticipated Hiring Range : $15.00 - $18.00 hourly, commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt position with benefits. This position requires standing and walking for 8 hours daily and lifting up to 35 pounds. Position Compensation Range: $12.41 - $18.01 hourly.
