WDVA Food Service Worker, Part-Time - Permanent, Spokane Veterans Home We are accepting applications for a part-time
Food Service Worker
at the Spokane Veterans Home in Spokane, Washington. The expected shift is 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday through Tuesday. Responsibilities
Set up and serve steam tables, napkins, utensils, condiments, supplements, desserts and drinks. Set up and serve dining areas, drinks, food orders and any other needs of residents following prescribed diets and food preferences. Clean up, bussing tables, sanitizing tables, food carts; wash pots and pans and related equipment. Perform simple cooking tasks (toasting, eggs, hot cereal, washing, peeling, chopping vegetables and fruits; assembling sandwiches, salads, and desserts). Operate kitchen appliances and related equipment; maintain general cleaning and sanitation of work areas. Sweep and mop floors; take out garbage; sanitize equipment and dishware. Use equipment to prevent cross-contamination; maintain cleanliness of dish room and equipment. And other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required: Valid Washington state food worker card. Preferred/Desired: Knowledge of safe food-handling practices, sanitation, hygiene, safety precautions, and proper use of kitchen utensils and equipment. One year of experience in a food service setting. Special Requirements
Must pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning and every two years per WDVA policy. Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening per policy. Must be able to wear respirators and PPE as required; lift up to 60 lbs; reach 36 inches; pass medical evaluation and training as required. Must sign the confidentiality statement and comply with WDVA policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements as applicable. Must maintain regular attendance and follow call-in procedures. Valid unrestricted drivers license if travel is required. Must have work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. Application Process
