All interested applicants for a Driver position, including those applicants that are fully qualified with a commercial drivers license, begin with us as a Driver in Training. The best-trained drivers in the business work for us because we devote a significant amount of resources, training, and development to our employees. A Driver in Training will be trained by our staff to obtain a commercial drivers license (CDL) and obtain related Driver endorsement(s), where available, and to learn our Company policies and procedures. Upon successful completion of the training program, the Driver In Training will be placed in a Professional Driver role. We offer: A Flexible Schedule Competitive Rates No Nights or Weekends Summers Off Responsibilities include: Providing safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route. Exhibiting the highest ethical practices and personal integrity; sharing concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with supervisors. Reporting on time and maintaining the route schedule safely. Assisting passengers in evacuation during emergencies. Reporting accidents or incidents immediately per company policy. Following company policies on student and passenger management. Informing appropriate personnel of issues or procedures. Maintaining a neat and professional appearance. Completing and submitting all required paperwork promptly. Promoting a cooperative attitude with colleagues, supervisors, and passengers. Utilizing vehicle equipment safely and efficiently, including wheelchair lifts and emergency equipment. Performing other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers may apply depending on location. Must possess or be able to obtain valid state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles. Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; subject to random testing. Must complete and pass all training. Must practice defensive driving and avoid accidents. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local driver requirements.
