Eastern Daylight Time Applications close: The Department of Mathematics at UMass Boston anticipates having one or more associate lecturer positions in mathematics starting in the Fall 2025 semester. At least one of these positions will strongly focus on our Quantitative Reasoning course. Renewals are contingent upon performance, availability of resources, and need in the department. The essential duties will be to teach up to four sections (12 credits) of lower-division service level mathematics classes per semester. In addition to instruction, the successful candidates will be expected to follow standard departmental policies related to instructional pedagogy and course coordination in multi-section classes and may participate in curriculum development. Required Qualifications: A Masters in Mathematics, or candidacy for a Ph.D. or a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related field Demonstrated potential for excellence in instruction. Desired Qualifications: A documented record of excellence in the classroom and in-person instruction as well as course coordination Interest/preference to teach foundational mathematics courses, such as Quantitative Reasoning and College Algebra, strongly preferred Interest or experience in curriculum development (particularly for Quantitative Reasoning, Math for Liberal Arts, and non-calculus based statistics) Demonstrated success working with diverse student and/or faculty populations Please apply online with your CV, cover letter, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and a list of three professional work references along with their contact information. 1.
