Truck Driver - CDL Class A
As a Truck Driver - CDL Class A, you will operate a tractor trailer that transports cargo daily to and from local customer locations. You will prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. You will load, secure and unload cargo, and maintain a log of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include preparing daily delivery schedules, selecting and loading materials, verifying loads for accuracy, delivering materials at designated locations, assisting with unloading and obtaining customer's signature for proof of delivery, maintaining contact with dispatcher to receive instructions about scheduled delivery or pick up, conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor trailer and maintaining logs of vehicle condition and repair needs. This role may also include performing the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries, performing functions necessary to keep the warehouse neat and orderly, and driver-assisted unloading responsibilities. Qualifications: Licenses/Certificates/Designations CDL Class A required, High School Degree or equivalent preferred, 2 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a Class A CDL license, Must be 21 years of age or older, Satisfactory driving record, Ability to lift up to 50lbs, Ability to obtain forklift certification, Able to work in a team environment, Detail oriented, Customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally. Working Environment: Driver Work is generally performed in a moving vehicle. Driving required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts. Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Physical Expectations: Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds, Work may require excessive bending or stooping, Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job, Employee required to climb ladders, Employee required to use hand tools.
