Material Handler In Shipping
Under direction of the Freight and Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler assists in shipping and other warehouse duties as assigned. The clerk will also inspect documents for outbound freight, while ensuring proper rotation of materials and finished goods on a first in, first out/expired basis. This position will work Monday-Thursday with hours of 7:30am-3:30pm. In this role you'll make an impact by: Preparing documents, such as bills of lading, packing slips and invoices. Recording shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, or recordkeeping purposes. Keeping records of shipping documents and purchase orders. Operating UPS and Fedex shipping software. Performing bookkeeping work, including posting data or keeping other records concerning shipments. Reviewing documents such as Packing Slips, COA's and COC's. Preparing orders for shipping using inventory management system. Operating forklifts and pallet jacks to load trucks and to move material within warehouse. Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Scheduling transfer of material between facilities. Driving company vehicles within the state of Wisconsin. Other duties as required. To succeed you must hold: High School Diploma along with 1+ year experience in a similar capacity. Shipping experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment, preferably dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals. Knowledgeable in GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation, dietary supplement regulations, food regulations, and product safety. Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving and follow-up skills. Ability to work effectively as a team player in a diverse work group. Forklift experience in sit downs, stand ups and powered hand jacks. Complies with company policies and procedures, maintains regular work attendance. Maintain a clean driving record. Be flexible with work hours as needed. Efficient in Microsoft outlook, word and excel. Experience with SAP Working environment is in a warehouse. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate with occasional exposure to cold temperatures and moving mechanical parts. Personal Protective Equipment is required at all times in designated areas. This can include wearing freezer gear, safety glasses, safety shoes and/or gloves. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and lift up to 75 lbs.
