The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale Keep donation area clean and without debris Sorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items Loading donations for truck delivery Adhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucks Follow all accident and injury reporting procedures Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable Other duties as assigned Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications Requirements: High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stoop Ability to walk, climb and/or balance Ability to lift-up and/or move 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance peripheral, vision, and depth perception. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
