Borgo, a celebrated Mediterranean trattoria from The Marlow Collective, is seeking a Dining Room Sommelier. We are looking for candidates with open availability for a position 3 to 4 evening shifts per week.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 2 years working as a restaurant sommelier in a high volume restaurant
- 2-3 years of formal, progressive wine education, and hospitality experience
- A deep understanding of natural wine
- Knowledge of the historic producers and appellations of France and Italy
Key Responsibilities
- Drive wine sales on the dining room floor:
- Recommend, present, and serve wines from our bottle list with confidence and clarity
- Execute all aspects of technical wine service, including proper glassware, serving temperature, decanting, and presentation
- Contribute to all aspects of service, including table maintenance, food running, and building a detailed understanding of our offerings, menu and beverage alike.
- Support the Wine Director with:
- Cellar management, including organization, bin system maintenance, and receiving/stocking wine orders
- Maintaining an up-to-date wine list
- Assisting in training FOH staff on wine knowledge and service standards, including contributing to pre-service briefings and tastings

When applicable and lawful, we deduct the tip credit of $5.50 / hour from the NY State minimum wage of $16.50 / hour.
A Dining Room Sommelier is regularly scheduled for up to a 4-day, 30-35 hour workweek, including weekends, but will occasionally be expected to work additional days during peak periods and/or to cover staffing shortages.
