As a Product Manager in the AI Strategy team, you’ll own products at the intersection of AI research, engineering, and business transformation. You will define roadmaps for GM’s enterprise AI platform and productivity tools, working closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and business leaders. This role is suited for a technically fluent product manager — someone who can translate model metrics, data pipeline requirements, and system trade-offs into clear business outcomes. Your leadership will guide how AI is responsibly deployed at scale across the enterprise.

Define and execute product roadmaps for GM’s enterprise AI platform and productivity solutions.

Partner with AI research and engineering teams to shape high-value use cases into scalable, governed products.

Translate technical concepts (e.g., training workflows, inference latency, evaluation metrics) into product priorities and trade-offs.

Establish and monitor KPIs for adoption, impact, and value delivered by AI solutions.

Ensure responsible deployment with built-in safety, compliance, and observability.

Drive user-centric design by incorporating employee feedback into platform improvements.

Stay ahead of emerging AI trends and identify opportunities to apply them across GM.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

5+ years of product management or technical program management experience, including 2+ years working with AI/ML, data platforms, or enterprise SaaS.

Strong technical foundation: ability to engage with engineering on ML workflows, data pipelines, and integration requirements.

Working knowledge of AI/ML lifecycle, including training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.

Proven ability to define product strategy and drive cross-functional execution.

Strong analytical and communication skills; adept at influencing technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field (MBA, Computer Science, AI, or related discipline).

Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices.

Experience with APIs, distributed systems, or technical product management.

Background in automotive, manufacturing, or large-scale industrial software environments.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the MTV office three times per week, at minimum.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. The salary range for this role is 160,000 to 210,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
