Position Summary:
The Sanitizer Lead is responsible for overseeing all sanitation operations within our plant to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP), and company policies. This role leads a person in the sanitation team, coordinates cleaning schedules, inspects equipment and facility cleanliness, and maintains documentation. The goal is to ensure a clean, safe environment for the production of high-quality pet food products.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision: Lead and supervise the sanitation
team, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Coordinate sanitation activities. Communicate
effectively with management. Sanitation Duties: Ensure cleaning and sanitizing of
equipment, tools, and facility areas (production lines, mixers, conveyors,
storage areas, etc.) are completed according to SOPs. Oversee the cleaning of both wet
and dry processing environments. Verify proper use and
concentration of cleaning chemicals and PPE. Respond promptly to
sanitation-related incidents (e.g., spills, contamination risks). Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of
sanitation procedures, chemical usage, and cleaning schedules. Ensure compliance with HACCP,
GMP, FSMA, and other relevant food safety standards. Participate in internal and
external audits. Ensure that the facility passes
inspections from regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, USDA, AIB). Safety & Continuous Improvement: Promote a safety-first culture
among the sanitation team. Identify opportunities to improve
sanitation processes and recommend solutions. Participate in root cause
analysis and corrective actions related to sanitation issues.

Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in food science or a
related field is a plus. 1+ years of experience in food
manufacturing sanitation, preferably in pet food or a similar environment. 1+ year in a leadership or
supervisory role. Skills: Strong understanding of
sanitation practices in a food processing environment. Familiar with HACCP, GMPs, and
other food safety regulations. Ability to read and follow SDS
(Safety Data Sheets) and chemical handling procedures. Proficient in documentation and
record-keeping. Strong leadership and
communication skills. Physical Requirements: Able to work in hot, cold, wet,
and/or dusty environments. Able to lift
up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Ability to work overnight or
flexible shifts, as needed.
Compensation details:
