Job Description

The Multimedia Production Specialist II, under general supervision, will coordinate multimedia production for the Texas A&M University-Central Texas event spaces. This includes ensuring computer playback, video, and audio equipment is functioning properly and ready for each scheduled event, livestreaming capabilities are set up for the venues and cameras and audio devices are functioning properly. This position will also assist with technology-based multimedia production combining text with sounds, pictures, graphics, video clips, virtual reality, and digital animation. This position requires evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities:

Provide audio-visual support for events held in Texas A&M University-Central Texas event venues.

Conduct regular tests of technology in event spaces.

Provide feedback on necessary technology needs and updates for event spaces.

Keep marketing team informed of upcoming events that may need marketing support.

Assist with event photography when needed.

Assist in producing, recording, publishing and editing of promotional, commercial, and news video for marketing purposes.

Supports development and production of visualization projects and makes technical recommendations.

Sets up and operates cameras, lighting units, microphones, and other equipment for field production and event spaces when needed.

Performs video post-production tasks including logging footage, creating rough cuts and revised and final versions of videos as needed.

Prioritizes, organizes and schedules work assignments and projects.

Designs and constructs lighting arrangements for studio and location video productions.

Maintains University image identity standards.

Researches and recommends new multimedia software as needed.

Assist in the design and construction of set pieces and props for studio productions.

Evaluates products and services for quality standards.

Assists with strategy for the Texas A&M University-Central Texas YouTube channel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop), knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Digital photography.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Ability to conceptually understand instructional needs and translate them in multimedia designs.

Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move moderately heavy objects. Ability to carry and hold production quality video and still cameras for extended periods of time.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Four years of related experience.

Salary: $43,888

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with evenings and weekends as needed.

Supervision of Others: : The position generally does not supervise employees.

Work Location: This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
