About the Role:
Seeking a Medical Assistant for a busy primary care practice. This position requires experience in a fast-paced environment with shared rooming of 20-40 patients per day. The ideal candidate will be adept at taking vitals, patient intake, chart prep, and administering vaccines and injections.
Type : Full Time, 40 hours per week (Temporary, with potential to become permanent based on performance and attendance)
Location : On-site in East Providence, RI
Shift : Monday - Friday, with typical work hours starting between 7:30/8:00 AM and ending between 5:00/5:30 PM. One day per week will have an earlier start and end time.
Pay : Competitive
Qualifications :
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, with at least 2 years in a primary care setting.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, with at least 6 months of experience using Athena being a plus.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of back-office duties, including taking vitals, patient intake, chart prep, vaccines, injections, spirometry, EKG, and point-of-care testing.
Key Responsibilities: Perform patient intake, including taking and recording vitals. Prepare patient charts for appointments. Administer vaccines and injections as directed by a provider. Conduct various point-of-care tests. Perform spirometry and EKG procedures. Work closely with 6 providers and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive patient experience.
