Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a Fuel Truck Driver in Bryan. Our drivers are home every night, and we offer competitive wages with a full benefits package.
Minimum Qualifications
- One year of DOT truck driving experience is preferred.
- Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver's license, medical card and clean driving record.
- A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license, or CDL Class B with HazMat and tanker endorsements.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, weekends and overtime.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations.
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow team members.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Safely deliver fuel and oil to construction projects.
- Complete pre and post trip inspections on fuel truck.
- Maintain fuel log showing delivery locations, quantity, meter readings, and quantity dispensed.
- Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil and fuel and inspect for leaks and damage to fuel truck before operation.
- Maintain a clean fuel truck appearance by complying with Knife River's operational policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
- Must be DOT compliant at all times.
- Follow equipment shop rules, keep shop clean, swept, tools picked up, and spills cleaned up while working in shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demand / Work Environment
- Must be able to work for long hours in all weather conditions.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Work in environments with high levels of noise, grease, and dust typical of construction projects.
- Work around substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
- Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
