Overview:

We are looking for a Data Analyst / BI Developer who excels at the crossroads of analytics, design, and business strategy. This hybrid role combines the curiosity of a Data Analyst with the technical expertise of a BI Developer to uncover anomalies, develop complex SQL queries, and deliver executive-ready Power BI dashboards that are both visually polished and highly actionable.

The ideal candidate pairs strong technical skills in SQL, dbt, and Power BI with a keen eye for modern dashboard design and user adoption, ensuring insights are not only accurate but also intuitive, engaging, and impactful across the business.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Anomaly Detection:

  • Write advanced SQL queries to uncover anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies in sales, finance, and operational data.
  • Translate findings into actionable reports by building Power BI dashboards or Google Sheets workflows that allow business teams to review, validate, and correct data.
  • Act as a proactive analyst, actively hunting for insights and issues that impact revenue and operations.

Dashboard & Reporting Automation:

  • Develop and maintain intuitive, interactive Power BI dashboards that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all reporting outputs.
  • Build tools and apps that simplify and automate manual workflows across departments.

Power BI Design Quality:

  • Deliver visually compelling , executive-ready dashboards with modern layouts , storytelling, and intentional use of typography, color, and interactivity.
  • Benchmark against industry-leading Power BI design standards to maintain a high level of visual quality.
  • Incorporate interactivity, accessibility, and usability principles so dashboards drive adoption across all levels of the business.

Data Infrastructure & ETL Development:

  • Consolidate disparate data sources into a centralized warehouse to support real-time and executive reporting.
  • Partner with data engineers to integrate new data sources and maintain robust, efficient workflows.

Performance Optimization & Governance:

  • Optimize Power BI models, queries, and refresh processes for performance and scalability.
  • Define and maintain consistent KPIs, data definitions, and documentation across dashboards and reports.
  • Ensure governance standards are followed for data accuracy, version control, and accessibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as the bridge between technical data solutions and business needs across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations.
  • Translate complex technical insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support training and adoption initiatives to ensure dashboards are used effectively across the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or business intelligence in a cross-functional business environment.
  • Expertise in: Power BI (dashboarding, DAX, visualization best practices), SQL (data modeling, query optimization), Python (data transformation, automation scripts), and Azure Synapse or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong applied SQL skills for data investigation, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with Salesforce data and aligning insights with sales processes and metrics.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills; able to present insights in a clear, compelling way.
  • Advanced Power BI design skills with a strong portfolio of dashboards that demonstrate polished aesthetics, modern layouts, and impactful storytelling.

Preferred Skills& Qualifications (nice-to-haves):

  • Experience building or maintaining a data warehouse .
  • Exposure to ETL automation frameworks and orchestration tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Previous experience developing custom tools or internal applications that drive efficiency.
  • Knowledge of custom Power BI visuals or CSS-like styling to refine user experience
  • Familiarity with design systems, UI/UX principles, and best practices in data visualization.
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) for managing SQL transformations, testing data quality, and maintaining version-controlled analytics workflows.

Estimated Salary Range: $110K - $125K (*DOE)
