Mercy Hospital Downtown is a 194-bed facility located in downtown Bakersfield. Mercy Hospital Southwest is a 78-bed facility and the only hospital located in the rapidly growing area west of Highway 99. Mercy Hospital is a member of Dignity Health and is a trusted community partner, serving residents of Bakersfield and Kern County with quality, compassionate care since 1910. Assist the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational nurse in providing comprehensive patient care. Anticipate patient need for cleanliness and comfort. Assure all assigned activities are performed in a timely and complete manner. Minimum Requirements: Nurse Assistant Certification* or current accredited nursing student or LVN or RN graduate. BLS (AHA required). Skills: Ability to demonstrate respect for people, courteous behavior to fellow employees, patients, their relatives, visitors and to the Medical staff, and follow the core values of the organization. Ability to accept supervision and guidelines and work cooperatively with others. Ability to follow regulations of the Hospital pertaining to job performance, behavior, dress code and patient care. Ability to be flexible in meeting the needs of varying situations. Ability to ensure that patients' rights are respected. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
