Department: The Roof Reports To: FOH Manager/Service Manager Summary: The Runner plays a critical support role in delivering The Roof Restaurant's upscale dining service experience. This position is responsible for ensuring that food is delivered promptly, accurately, and at the highest quality to guests while maintaining seamless communication between the kitchen and service staff. Runners must work efficiently, remain organized under pressure, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, the ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine commitment to supporting the guest experience. Job Environment: Primarily works indoors in a high-volume, upscale dining restaurant environment. Requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent carrying of plates and trays, and the ability to multitask under pressure. Must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, and moving quickly in a busy dining space. Skills, Education and Qualifications: Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred, but not required Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Professional demeanor with a focus on guest satisfaction Must be punctual, reliable, and adaptable to changing needs of the shift Essential Functions: Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately Ensure that plates are presented correctly and meet quality standards before reaching guests Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth and timely service Maintain clean and organized service areas and side stations throughout the shift Train on and assist with expo, helping to control the flow of the kitchen Assist with large parties, special dining experiences, and private events as required Understands and embraces our workplace culture, works as a team player, and follows all company policies Support bussers and servers in ensuring guest satisfaction and overall service flow Compensation: $7.00/hour + tips (Utah tipped minimum wage). Top runners can earn up to $20 - $25/hour depending on shift availability, guest volumes, and individual performance. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
