The cafeteria satellite attendant is a staff member who assumes the responsibilities and duties assigned by the director. The attendant is responsible for: Safe preparation and handling of food Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities Serving of food Assisting with record keeping Performance responsibilities include: Efficiently performing tasks related to preparation of food, serving of food, cleaning all areas of the kitchen, or other assigned duties Attending training meetings as required Reporting to work as scheduled and remaining on the job until dismissal Notifying the manager and the main office when unable to work Maintaining pleasant working relations with fellow employees Following all policies and instructions of the School Committee and Cafeteria Manager Performing duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and serving of food Assisting with food preparation, cleaning kitchen equipment and work area, setting up serving counter, serving food, washing dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans and utensils, washing dining room tables, unpacking supplies, and stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves Operating equipment properly, maintaining safety standards Performing duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or GED required Current authorization to work in the United States Preferred: ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate This position is subject to the City of Boston residency requirement. Salaries are listed by Union and Grade/Step.
