We are seeking a

detail-oriented and experienced Quality Technician

to join our team in the

pet food manufacturing industry

. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with

Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification

and a strong understanding of

food safety

,

quality control processes

, and

regulatory requirements

. The

Quality Technician

will play a key role in ensuring

product quality

, ensuring

compliance with safety standards

, and maintaining the

SQF certification

for our food production facility. In addition, the candidate must possess

basic computer skills

to efficiently record data, generate reports, and manage quality documentation. Being

bilingual (English/Spanish)

is preferred, as the role requires effective communication with a diverse team, both in writing and verbally.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Quality Control: a. Conduct regular inspections of in-process production and finished products to ensure compliance with

quality specifications

and

safety standards

. b. Perform sensory evaluations (e.g., smell, appearance, texture) and laboratory testing as needed. c. Monitor and verify the proper implementation of quality control procedures and standards throughout all stages of production. 2.

Compliance with SQF: a. Assist in maintaining

SQF certification

by ensuring continuous adherence to SQF standards and food safety regulations. b. Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with

SQF

,

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

, and

HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)

systems. c. Support preparation and readiness for

external audits

and regulatory inspections. Product Sampling & Testing:

· Collect and prepare representative samples of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products for laboratory testing in accordance with quality standards. · Perform a range of tests, including

chemical

,

microbiological

, and

physical

assessments, to evaluate the quality and safety of materials and products. · Analyze test results to identify deviations from established quality standards, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to resolve any issues. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action:

· Investigate non-conformances, quality issues, and process discrepancies to determine root causes. · Lead or support the implementation of

corrective actions

and

preventive actions (CAPA)

to address identified issues and prevent recurrence. · Document all findings and actions taken and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions through follow-up monitoring and data analysis. Documentation & Reporting:

· Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all

inspections

,

tests

,

audits

, and quality control activities. · Generate detailed

reports

on quality trends, issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions for

management review

. · Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards. Training & Support:

· Provide

training

to production staff on

quality control procedures

,

food safety

, and

SQF

requirements to ensure consistent adherence to standards. · Assist in the

onboarding

and training of new team members on company-specific quality protocols and food safety practices. · Foster a collaborative environment to support continuous learning and development within the quality team. Continuous Improvement:

aimed at optimizing

product quality

, minimizing waste, and enhancing operational efficiency. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices. Stay informed on

Qualifications:

Experience:

·

2+ years

of experience as a

Quality Technician

or in a similar role within the food industry. ·

Hands-on experience

with

SQF

,

HACCP

, and

GMP

systems is required. · Familiarity with

FDA

,

USDA

, or other relevant regulatory standards is essential. Skills:

· Strong understanding of

food safety practices

and

quality control techniques

. ·

Experience using lab testing equipment

(e.g.,

pH meters

,

thermometers

,

microscopes

). ·

Basic computer skills

, including data entry,

email communication

, and proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g.,

Microsoft Excel

or similar). · Excellent

attention to detail

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
