Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This position assists the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination. The APM serves as a liaison between field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, ensuring seamless communication and efficient progress from project start to closeout. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and budgeting for all phases of commercial construction projects. 
  • Prepare, track, and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports. 
  • Coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain project flow and resolve issues quickly. 
  • Support procurement efforts by sourcing materials and services while monitoring costs to stay within budget. 
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and communicate updates to project leadership and clients. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and contractual obligations. 
  • Participate in regular project meetings and assist in problem-solving to keep projects on track. 
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch list management and final documentation. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). 
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in a project coordination or management support role. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with project management software. 
  • Basic understanding of contracts, scheduling techniques, and budgeting principles. 
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
