Job Summary
We're seeking a dependable, detail-oriented
Kitchen Steward/dishwasher
to join our culinary team. In this role, you'll support chefs by ensuring that the kitchen, dishes, and equipment are always sanitized and organized. You may also assist with basic ingredient preparation, station setup, and light cooking or plating. From breakfast service to large banquets, your work will help us deliver clean, high-quality dishes and delicious meals our guests expect. Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Dishwashing Wash and sanitize prep tools, cookware, utensils, dishes, and small wares. Keep dishwashing and cleaning areas organized, clean, and stocked. Assist at the dish station during peak periods to maintain smooth kitchen operations. Food Safety & Sanitation
Follow all safety and hygiene standards, including handwashing, glove use, and cleaning protocols. Label, date, and store food correctly; monitor food temperatures for safety compliance. Adhere to company policies regarding attendance, uniforms, grooming, breaks, and professional conduct. Basic Prep Work, Cooking & Plating
Assist with washing, chopping, portioning, seasoning, marinating, and pre-measuring ingredients. Support in preparing sauces, garnishes, and other basic components. Help with prep work and cooking tasks such as sautéing, roasting, grilling, and baking. Assist in plating for buffet or banquet service. Station Setup & Support
Stock, organize, and clean prep stations before, during, and after shifts. Refill supplies promptly and assist in setting up and breaking down work areas efficiently. Inventory & Supplies
Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and freshness. Report shortages and assist in minimizing waste using FIFO and proper portioning. Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of kitchen or dishwashing experience preferred; culinary training a plus. Strong knife skills, ability to follow recipes, and basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety. Able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, push, pull, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive, routine tasks. Valid Food Handler's Certification required upon hire (reasonable accommodation available). Work Environment
Fast-paced indoor and outdoor kitchen environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, and commercial equipment. Requires physical activity such as bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Must have schedule flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
