Title: Business Analyst
Location: Atlanta, GA 30319 (Onsite the first 90 days, then 1 day/week remote)
Duration: Full-Time / Direct Hire
Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
The Business Analyst performs hands-on business analysis activities by understanding business user needs and transforms them into detailed functional requirements. This role will have significant interaction with the business users with emphasis on supporting and enhancing our systems. This person will work closely with the business process owners and technical leads in the problem definition, solution design, testing, training and implementation of functional requirements and will participate in regular meetings to facilitate the understanding, clarification, prioritization and implementation of functional requirements. This person will also coordinate testing, training, and act as a liaison between IT and the various business groups. This role will interact with personnel at all levels of the organization, providing training and support for all aspects of our current business systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently and with IT staff to gather and document user requirements to solve business problems.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
- Analyze business operations to understand strengths and weaknesses to uncover areas of improvement.
- Work with users to develop test documentation (test plans, test cases, and test scripts) and lead user acceptance testing.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
- Coordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes.
- Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Manage competing resources and priorities.
- Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Assist with project management for selected projects
- Stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis or related field
- Knowledge of insurance business principles and practices with background either as an analyst of an insurance company or as a consultant providing services to insurance companies
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to understand complex business processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- A track record of following through on commitments
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience organizing team/group work
- A history of leading and supporting successful projects
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
- General understanding of Software Engineering and Architecture principles
- Experience with object, process, or data modeling as well as basic knowledge of SQL is a strong plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and workflow diagramming tools
- Proficient in Jira and Confluence or equivalent issue tracking and collaboration apps
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
- Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments
- A BS degree from a fully accredited institution is required, preferably in business analysis, business administration, risk management or related field
- Experience in Insurance industry
