About The Position
GI Hospitalist-Indiana
This locum tenens assignment in Indiana is a perfect fit for a GI Hospitalist seeking part-time coverage that offers a great work-life balance with a week-on/week-off schedule. We're looking for a physician to provide ongoing support due to a long-term permanent search.
Highlights:
- Block scheduling is available with a week-on/week-off model
- Only 1 week per month is required in 2026, so you can choose dates that work for you
- Bread and butter GI cases-no EUS/ERCP required
Practice Setting:
- Inpatient GI Hospitalist model at a 170-bed community hospital
- Admissions are required
- Pager call coverage with 2-3 phone consults per day
Schedule:
- Scheduled clinical hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., followed by pager call
- Ongoing need for short-term coverage
- Weekend coverage is required as part of the block schedule
Procedures and Cases:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and foreign body removal
- Lower GI endoscopy with colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy
- Liver biopsy is required for this assignment
Requirements:
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
- Must be licensed in IN or open to IMLC Physicians
- ACLS and BLS certifications are required
Credentialing Requirements:
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
- Must have a clean NPDB and no outstanding medical malpractice
