About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist for a locum tenens assignment in New Mexico, beginning Dec 20, 2025. This 84-day contract offers a 7 on 7 off schedule with 24-hour hospitalist coverage, morning rounds, and optional light-volume clinic support four days per week. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and comfortable managing rural health hospitalist responsibilities.

- Schedule: 7 on 7 off; 24-hour hospitalist coverage with morning rounds. Option to work in clinic (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) for 4 days/week during assignment weeks; provider may choose clinic days.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide 24-hour inpatient hospitalist coverage during scheduled weeks
- Perform morning rounds and manage acute and chronic patient care needs
- Optionally support outpatient clinic with light patient volumes, four days per week as chosen
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
- Adhere to all hospital policies and quality standards
Additional Information
- Must be licensed to practice in New Mexico
- Required board certifications: Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Experience in rural health hospitalist settings preferred
- NPDB report required as part of submission
