About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Physician for an 8-week locum tenens assignment in Texas, starting Sep 22, 2025. This role offers flexible two-day-per-week scheduling, with day shifts from 8am to 5pm. The physician will provide primary care in a resource-limited setting, collaborating with an onsite doctor and managing a broad range of responsibilities, including performing vital checks and prescription management.


Job Details

  • Provider Type Needed: Internal Medicine Physician
  • Schedule: 2 days per week, flexible days; 8:00am-5:00pm; first patient at 8:30am, last patient at 4:30pm


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive care in internal medicine or family practice to a diverse patient population
  • Perform and document vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature)
  • Conduct urine analysis and create lab orders for outsourced blood work
  • Perform and interpret EKGs
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances (Schedules 1-5), and manage prescription refills
  • Review lab results and medical records
  • Navigate Electronic Health Records (Prognocis) and utilize practice management software
  • Ensure compliance with medical office procedures, billing, and healthcare regulations
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Occasionally work evening hours based on practice needs


Additional Information

  • Active Texas medical license and valid DEA certificate required
  • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in family medicine or primary care
  • Proficiency in EHR and familiarity with healthcare billing codes essential
