About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in California. This role starts on Dec 8, 2025, and features three 10-hour shifts per week, with evening and overnight coverage. The assignment involves urgent care and emergency department duties, including care for low-acuity patients and reading X-rays. Qualified candidates must have at least one year of emergency department experience or two years in fast track urgent care.

- Schedule : Three 10-hour shifts per week, either 4 PM - 2:30 AM or 9 PM - 7:30 AM
Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate and treat 3-4 low-acuity patients per hour, including ankle sprains, stitches, wrist and major joint injuries
- Perform complex laceration repairs efficiently
- Conduct neonatal and pediatric assessments, including newborns from day one of life
- Read and interpret X-rays, following established guidelines for imaging requests
- Provide care in both urgent care and regular emergency department settings
Additional Information
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience or 2 years of fast track urgent care experience required
- California license required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- LA firecard required (can be obtained in approximately 2 hours)
