About The Position
Wellhart is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant specializing in General Surgery for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, with potential for extension through 12/01/2025. The assignment begins on March 9, 2020, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexible start/end times), totaling 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases across various specialties, including GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics. Additional responsibilities include port placement, closure of port sites, assistance in non-robotic cases, and occasional discharge documentation and outpatient prescriptions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled PA to work in a hospital setting using the Epic electronic health record system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases (GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics)
• Perform placement of ports and closure of port sites
• Assist in non-robotic cases as needed
• Complete discharge documentation and outpatient prescriptions when required
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EHR system
• Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
