Exempt-Full Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Distribution Center Manager to oversee the storage, inventory, and distribution operations for our pet food manufacturing and distribution business. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, and delivery of pet food products while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:Warehouse Management: Oversee daily
warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and
shipping. Ensure
inventory accuracy and conduct regular cycle counts. Implement
warehouse layout improvements to maximize space and operational
efficiency. Maintain
cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards suitable for pet food storage. Manage inbound
and outbound logistics in compliance with industry standards (e.g., GMP,
HACCP). Logistics Coordination: Plan and
coordinate delivery schedules with production and sales operations. Select and
manage third-party logistics (3PL) partners, couriers, and freight
providers. Ensure timely
delivery of products to, distributors, or direct-to-customer channels. Monitor
transportation costs, delivery performance, and optimize routes. Team Management: Lead, train,
and develop warehouse staff and logistics personnel. Set performance
goals, conduct evaluations, and enforce company policies and procedures. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure
compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards. Maintain
accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory. Coordinate
quality control and regulatory teams for audits and inspections. Process Improvement: Identify
opportunities to reduce costs and improve service levels.
Requirements: Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s
degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or
a related field. 5+ years of
experience in distribution and logistics management, preferably in the food
or pet food industry. Strong
understanding of food-grade warehousing and distribution standards. Experience with
ERP/WMS systems (NetSuite). Knowledge of
inventory control procedures and lean logistics practices. Strong
leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work
in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: HACCP, GMP, or
SQF certification.
