About the Role: Seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to join our team in Fond du Lac, WI. This role will focus on driving cost efficiency and supporting new product development by providing accurate cost estimates, applying DFM/DFA methodologies, and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities: Partner with design engineers to ensure functionality is achieved at minimum cost. Apply Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) tools for new and modified designs. Develop cost targets for both

mechanical engine parts

(castings, stampings, extrusions, injection molding) and

electrical components

(wiring harnesses, PCBs, motors, batteries). Conduct should-cost analysis and provide reports to procurement to support supplier negotiations. Perform competitive benchmarking and teardown analysis to build cost models. Participate in value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) activities and generate cost reduction opportunities. Track and present monthly cost updates, risks, and opportunities to senior management. Act as the cost information resource across functions including engineering, procurement, marketing, sales, and finance. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. 3–5 years of industry experience. Proficiency in costing software (BDI, A-priori, or similar). Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings. Knowledge of Bills of Material (BOM) and their applications. Experience with VA/VE techniques and financial cost analysis. Functional knowledge of 3D CAD software (Creo preferred). Proficient with Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel up to 10%. Preferred Qualifications: Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes: casting, stamping, injection molding, extrusion, and PCBA. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
