Role Overview The Software Engineer will focus on

insider threat detection, monitoring, and mitigation

within the organization. This role involves hands-on cybersecurity work, including monitoring network activity, conducting investigations, threat hunting, and collaborating across teams to reduce security risks.

Key Responsibilities Monitoring and Detection Use advanced monitoring tools to detect suspicious activities, anomalies, or deviations within the network and systems. Analyze data logs, user activities, and access patterns to identify potential insider threats or unauthorized behavior. Investigation and Analysis Conduct in-depth investigations into suspected insider threats, gathering evidence and collaborating with relevant stakeholders. Analyze security incidents to determine root causes, motives, and potential operational impact. Threat Hunting Perform threat hunting in a corporate environment. Work with large datasets and log analysis tools. Apply Cyber Threat Intelligence via enrichment, correlation, and attribution. Risk Assessment and Mitigation Evaluate the severity and impact of insider threats on critical assets and operations. Develop and implement proactive strategies, policies, and controls to mitigate threats. Reporting and Communication Prepare detailed reports and presentations on insider threat incidents, trends, and mitigation strategies for management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, HR, legal, compliance) to address security concerns.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred (can be offset with relevant experience/projects). 5+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on insider threat detection and analysis. Proficiency in security automation, scripting, monitoring tools, and SIEM platforms. Strong understanding of insider threat indicators, behavioral analytics, and user activity monitoring. Experience in threat hunting and working with large data sets. Knowledge of legal hold processes and working with 3rd party organizations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
