DyStar is seeking an Assistant Manager, Logistics in our Reidsville, North Carolina, manufacturing plant and warehouse. This role reports to our Regional Senior Supply Chain Manager and manages warehouse and logistics activities and staff of 7 direct reports in Reidsville, NC, California, and Mexico City. We are seeking an experienced supply chain professional to optimize cost/service relationships for international imports and exports, to maximize efficiency and compliance with logistics and trade compliance functions, and to implement effective logistics procedures to support Dystar Global Supply Chain Strategy requirements and guarantee cost-effectiveness and compliance across all the procedures.

Assistant Manager, Logistics Job Summary: Lead, develop and optimize the effectiveness of Logistics and Warehousing processes in accordance with Global Supply Chain strategy. Responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight of Logistics and Warehousing functions of Dystar LP, as well as implement effective logistics procedures to support Dystar Global Supply Chain Strategy requirements and guarantee cost-effectiveness and compliance across all the procedures. Manage warehouses activities and logistics activities Manage complex tasks and possess a high attention to detail. Manage to optimize cost/service relationships for international imports and exports. Manage to maximize efficiency and compliance with logistics and trade compliance functions.
Job Responsibilities: Lead Logistics & Warehouse teams to ensure efficient, timely and accurate execution, whether in-house or 3rd party in delivery, import/ export works, stock take, compliance, etc. Rationalize and optimize number or warehouses and logistic movements in terms of costs and on time delivery Manage and supervise warehouse activities and keep records of the inventory. Determine and coordinate movement of inventory storage based on usage and turns. Manage shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them. Interface with Freight forwarders and transportation service providers for Local, Import and Export works. Coordinate shipping and receiving of FG and RM (Local, Import and Export). Establish performance metrics (KPIs) for measurement, comparison and/or evaluation of factors affecting the warehouse, logistics activities and the team. Lead inventory discrepancies root cause analysis and create preventive actions. Direct and guide logistics activities to ensure overall effectiveness and efficiency in daily operations. Develop logistics and warehouse team members to its best potential and utilize their strengths effectively to carry out their assigned duties, deliver quality work and service. Provide coaching and guidance to team members and direct their activities to increase efficiencies. Ensure company's policies & procedures are understood and diligently followed by all staff. Conduct the local S&OP process for Logistics and Warehousing as well as support local projects to improve flow of communication and resources utilization. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 7 direct reports – 3 in Reidsville, NC, 3 in California, and 1 in Mexico City
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent would be a plus. 10+ years working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3+ years people management experiences Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, imports/exports, customs clearance, business, and management principles
Required Skills and Abilities: Strong team player Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports Exceptional organizational and analytical skills Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software Problem solving and troubleshooting skills Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point) Project Management skills Occasional travel on an as-needed basis
