Full Time Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team at our food manufacturing facility in Paterson, NJ. This role is responsible for promoting a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs that comply with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing setting, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to safety culture improvement.

Key Responsibilities: Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with company safety policies and government regulations (OSHA, FDA, USDA, etc.). Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the plant. Assist in developing and updating safety procedures, manuals, and training materials specific to food manufacturing operations. Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, trainings, and compliance reports. Coordinate and conduct employee safety training programs, including new hire orientation and annual refresher courses. Support the implementation of Food Safety Programs (GMPs, HACCP) from a workplace safety perspective. Serve as the liaison for internal teams and regulatory agencies during safety inspections or audits. Track and manage PPE inventory and ensure proper usage across all departments. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee involvement in workplace safety initiatives.

Qualifications: 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; familiarity with FDA and USDA compliance is a plus. Strong understanding of hazard identification, job hazard analysis, and incident investigation procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with safety management systems is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and working in hot or cold environments. Ability to wear required PPE and adhere to hygiene and food safety protocols. Plant work may involve exposure to cold, heat, loud noise, moving machinery, heights, dust, mist, gas, fumes, and frequent walking or climbing
