Senior
Scientist
– Taste Coffee
is based in KERRY Global Technology & Innovation Centre in Beloit, Wisconsin, USA and reporting to the RD&A Director. The candidate must be prepared to support scale up process, process optimization and different activities at different sites/facilities occasionally.

The successful candidate should demonstrate with moderate “hands on” experience working with roasting, extraction and coffee drying technologies (development, upscaling, downscaling). She/He should have preliminary experiences and demonstrate technical leadership capabilities in the field of Food Science with Sensory, Analytical, and Processing knowledge. The successful candidate will be leading strategic projects in close collaboration with other Kerry staff from different End Use Markets. The successful candidate will support the development of Kerry's portfolio of Coffee Extracts. This is a Permanent role.
Key responsibilities To lead and/or participate in Commercial Coffee projects. To lead and/or participate in scale up, process optimization and innovation projects for coffee. To collaborate with Applications, Sales and Marketing team in customer presentations. To support ideation and implementation of PIP projects. Set clear priorities, goals and objectives for multi-disciplinary cross-functional project teams that create a competitive advantage for the business. Partner with Innovation, Beverage EUM and Business Development to ensure R&D objectives are aligned with business requirements and evolving market conditions Ensure technical reports, standard operating procedure (SOP's) and scientific presentations are accurate and kept up to date Contribute to training team members on roasting, extraction that can add value to Kerry's coffee team.
Qualifications and skills Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry 5+ years’ experience of hands-on coffee Research and Development. Experience at pilot scale or in production environment is a plus Demonstrate an ability for multi-tasking, in planning and time management proficient, expert in extraction technology. Competence in writing technical documents such as research reports, SOPs, etc. Proficiency with Excel or other data processing/visualization software is desirable Experience working in collaborative and multi-cultural / international environments in a plus.
The typical hiring range for this role is $75,602 to $123,432 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
