As a Security Guard - Unarmed Media Patrol in Annapolis Junction, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. You will use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability, giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you while gaining valuable site experience across various industries.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a leading Tech, Media, and Telecom location, you will help create a secure environment for employees and visitors. Your primary responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to deter security incidents, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, requiring you to operate a vehicle as part of patrol duties. You will interact with a diverse range of individuals, respond to security-related situations, and communicate clearly and professionally at all times.

Position Details

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $21.22 / Hour

Job Schedule: Day Shift

Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice for urgent needs

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity
• Monitor and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns within the location
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or authorizations as required by site policies
• Document security-related incidents and maintain accurate records as directed by site procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Background investigation as required by federal, state, and local laws
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• Drug screening as required by law
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only
